The article I wrote together with Klaske Havik, “Designing for Simultaneity: Negotiating domestic, social and productive practices in Addis Ababa.” was recently published in the issue 95 of OASE – Journal for Architecture. In this article we discuss the organization and outcomes of the ‘Global Housing’ studio of TU Delft in collaboration with EiABC of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This issue of OASE, edited by Tom Avermaete, Viviana d’Auria, Klaske Havik, and Lidewij Lenders, is dedicated to the theme "Crossing Boundaries: Transcultural Practices in Architecture and Urbanism". It takes as its point of departure the cross-cultural conditions in which architects, urban designers and landscape architects work. It is focused in particular on architects working in a condition of displacement.
